How do I transfer a domain name to my account?

If you have registered an account/domain with us and have selected your domain name for transfer, then please follow the instructions below.

.uk
(.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk)

You need to change the IPSTAG on your domain, it should be set to STREAMLINENET. You will need to contact the company with who you registered the domain with and ask them to change this for you.

If you are unable to contact them you can contact nominet (www.nic.uk, 01865 332211), the governing body for .uk domains, who will be able to resolve your dispute. As soon as the IPSTAG is changed, we can then activate the domain name onto your hosting account. Your .uk domain will then be renewed as part of your hosting account.

gTLD
(.eu, .com, .org, .net, .biz, .info, .us, .name)

You can use your gTLD with your hosting package by changing the DNS settings with your previous provider to ns1.streamlinedns.co.uk and ns2.streamlinedns.co.uk. Alternatively we can initiate a full domain transfer request. This costs £ 15.00 + VAT and includes an additional years registration. We would then control the renewal of the domain.

If you require the full domain transfer, please ensure your domain is unlocked with your previous provider before the transfer is initiated.

To arrange for the transfer you need to login to your account control panel, choose the domain you wish to transfer. Within this page it will have the option "Click here if you would like to automatically transfer this domain to us", click that link and follow the instructions.

NB: The following domain suffixes are charged at £30.00 +VAT for a full domain transfer: .ca, .ca, .tv

DNS

If you are not transferring your domain name to ourselves but only changing the DNS, you will need to change the DNS nameservers on your domain to the following:

ns1.streamlinedns.co.uk
ns2.streamlinedns.co.uk

Alternatively if you are managing your own DNS records, please see the following knowledge base article:
