How do I setup email in Outlook Express?

In a few easy steps, you can use Outlook Express to send and receive emails through your Standard or Advanced mailbox.

Step 1: Open Outlook Express.

Step 2: Click Tools then Accounts in the drop down menu.

Step 3: Click Add then select Mail from the options available.

Step 4: Enter a Display name in the text box provided. A display name is a name you would like other people to see when you send them an email. Once done click Next.

Step 5: Enter the email address of your Standard or Advanced mailbox and click Next.

Step 6: Select POP3 as your incoming mail server, then enter mail.yourdomainname.co.uk (replacing yourdomainname.co.uk with your domain name) into the incoming mail server text box.

Step 7: If you are setting up an Advanced mailbox, enter authsmtp.yourdomainname.co.uk (Replacing yourdomainname.co.uk with your domain name) into the Outgoing mail server text box, then click Next.

If you are setting up a Standard mailbox, enter your Internet Service providers (ISP's) SMTP server into the text box, then click Next.

Tip: You can find out your ISP's SMTP server by contacting your Internet Service Provider.

Step 8: Enter your mailbox email address in the account name text box, then enter your mailbox password. This is the password you chose when you created your mailbox.

Tip: Tick the box marked Remember Password to avoid being prompted for your password each time Outlook Express connects to your mailbox.

Step 9: Once you have entered your details click Next.

Step 10: The email setup wizard is now complete, click Finish to end the Wizard, then Close to return to your Inbox.

Outlook Express is now set up to send and receive emails from your mailbox, click Send/Recv to download any emails from your mailbox.
